It’s no secret that the trail system at Patapsco Valley State Park is a destination for mountain bikers from near and far – and these cyclists help comprise one of the largest trail stewardship communities in the country. While FPVSP is not a mountain bike organization, the cycling community plays a HUGE role in supporting the park – each year individual cyclists, bike shops, outdoor retailers, and bicycle manufacturers donate thousands of hours and substantial resources ($) to build and maintain our multi-use trail system and grow our diverse trail community. FPVSP is happy to support our partner organizations, cycling, and stewardship events at Patapsco Valley State Park.
2023 Mountain Bike Events
Patapsco Trail Fest • 9/15 – 9/17

We are excited about an expanded Patapsco Trailfest in 2023! We are incorporating more of our user groups and activating additional areas of the incredible Patapsco Valley State Park. This year we will be adding a mountain bike Enduro to the schedule.
The Punisher At Pickall • Thursdays in May

Schools Out Open House & The Punisher at Pickall! This four-date series provides open rides on the Schools Out Loop from 2pm – 5pm and grassroots bike racing from 5pm -7:30pm. This event sells out! A big thanks to the Spence Group of Keller Williams Integrity and Countryside Veterinary Clinic for underwriting this grassroots race series.
MICL State Finals • 11/4 – 11/5

We couldn’t be prouder of our partnership with MICL! Student-athletes are a big part of the PVSP trail community and it’s absolutely humbling to be a small part of the positive impact that MICL has had in the Patapsco Valley. We are thrilled to have the MICL/NICA finals returning to the park this fall!
The 6 Hours at Woodstock (6HAW) • 6/10

Longtime PVSP supporter Joe’s Bike Shop and the super fun (and fast) Joe’s Bike Shop Racing Team produce 6HAW! If you are looking for a challenging event on some of the park’s sweetest trails – the 6HAW event is for you.
Mini Pedals

FPVSP is proud to work with Mini Pedals to encourage, challenge, and educate children to be comfortable and confident on their mountain bikes. Friendships are forged on the trail, challenges are overcome on the trail, and confidence is built on the trail. Check out the incredible Muddy/Mini Pedals!
Minority Mountain Bikers

MMB is an organization dedicated to increasing and highlighting the diversity in mountain biking. Minorities have long been underrepresented and underserved in the mountain biking community. Minority Mountain Bikers is committed to improving these longstanding inequalities by showcasing riders of all genders and ethnicities.!

We are very fortunate to have a longstanding partnership with MORE (MId-Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts) one of the largest, and oldest mountain bike organizations in the U.S. – get involved with trails, advocacy, and all things MTB by clicking the MORE logo.
(Did you know that as a requirement for any trail event at the park, our partner organizations are required to donate .5 hours of trail maintenance for every participant?)
