Below you’ll find a variety of projects we’ve completed—ranging from our mobile visitor center and outreach activities to trailhead kiosks, trail markers, a Hollofield play space, and more. We also have several smaller projects, like bridges and kiosks, that are in need of sponsorship to help us keep improving the park for everyone.
Small Project Sponsorships
We have worked with the Maryland Park Service to produce engineered plans for two different lengths of bridges in Patapsco Valley State Park. We have several locations on the trail system where bridges and Kiosks are a critical need. These bridges and Kiosks are designed and engineered to support all of PVSP’s trail users!
Make the donation of a bridge or kiosk on your trail system. Opportunities are available for volunteer engagement and ribbon-cutting events for your business or organization!
Mobile Visitors Center & Outreach Activities
At Patapsco Valley State Park, we are dedicated to meeting visitors’ needs wherever and however they enjoy the park. With so many ways to explore PVSP—from hiking and biking to paddling and picnicking—we recognize the wonderfully diverse communities that call this park their own.
Trail Head Kiosks and Markers
Thanks to the generous support of members like you, Friends has installed 32 new trailhead kiosks throughout the park, with another two dozen currently in the works. These kiosks give visitors easy access to trail maps, safety information, and park updates right where their adventure begins. Member support makes projects like this possible – so if you’re reading this, you helped make it happen. Thank you for investing in a better, safer, more welcoming park experience for everyone.
Hollofield Play Space
More than just a traditional playground, the Hollofield Play Space at Patapsco Valley State Park is the first of its kind in a Maryland State Park!
This fully accessible, American Disability Act-compliant Play Space is designed to allow visitors of all abilities to connect to nature through play, exploration, and reflection.
