What we do
At Patapsco Valley State Park, we are dedicated to meeting the needs of our visitors wherever and however they enjoy the park. With so many ways to explore PVSP—from hiking and biking to paddling and picnicking—we recognize the wonderfully diverse communities that call this park their own.

The Patapsco Trailwork Series
Multiple Dates!
We’re building trails and community in the Patapsco Valley!
We’ll be rotating through different areas of the park on the last Saturday of each month, May through November, keeping our trails in top shape and beautiful for everyone.

The Patapsco 50k

We couldn’t be prouder of our long partnership with White Oak Running Company. Their signature event, The Patapsco 50k, draws runners from near and far for a true test of endurance and grit on PVSP’s technical trail system. This event is in its 12th year and is one of the premier trail runs in the Mid-Atlantic!
Pints for Patapsco
Returning in 2026!
The Guinness Open Gate Brewery and the Friends of Patapsco Valley State Park are partnering to bring you the Pints for Patapsco 5k and 10k road run.
Run from the incredible Open Gate Brewery to PVSP’s most iconic features - 5k under the Thomas Viaduct or 10k across the Swinging Bridge!

Our 4-date series of 10K trail runs in the Pickall Area of Patapsco Valley State Park, this not-too-competitive run series will challenge your endurance amidst the rugged trails of PVSP.

Come join us on Thursday nights at the Pickall Section of Patapsco Valley State Park for a night of grassroots bike racing and fun! All proceeds will be donated to Friends of Patapsco Valley State Park to support our local trail system.
Cocktails for Trails

Cocktails for Trails is the favorite Valley fundraiser, bringing together park lovers for an evening of great drinks, delicious bites, and community spirit — all in support of the trails at Patapsco Valley State Park. Join us for a night of celebration and stewardship!
Winter Party
