PVSP IS A PARK FOR ALL USERS!
At Patapsco Valley State Park we are working hard to serve our visitors where and how they use the park. Not only are there many ways to enjoy PVSP, but there are remarkably diverse communities that use the park. Efforts are well underway to provide equitable resources to each type of user.
Key to these efforts is the Mobile Visitors Center, our four-wheel drive sprinter van that distributes information on park use and stewardship, and educational activities in Spanish, Korean, and English languages.
You have no doubt noticed that we have been working to install new signage throughout the park. All seventeen of the new park kiosks are in Spanish and English, and we are well underway with a new program of trilingual signs, with messaging tailored to our large Korean user groups.
Each year Friends partners with the Maryland Park Service for Es Mi Parque, our Spanish-language celebration of all things Patapsco! This year’s event is July 22nd in the Avalon Area of the park!
